Things to do in Lockdown

It's been a while since I've posted on here - life was so busy before Coronavirus but I've finally sat down and felt motivated to write a new blog post. During these times I find it so difficult to keep a routine when there is limited things to do and it can make me feel demotivated and run down. Here's a list of things you can do to keep yourself busy:

1. Youtube home workouts
I came across the channel POPSUGAR fitness when looking for beginners workouts and they have some great content! Their workouts are actually for beginners as well - it was hard but manageable and I felt great for doing it.

2. Going for a walk
Although it may seem pointless for some, going for a daily one hour walk is a good way to get into a routine - try and go at the same time each day. It will help you sleep better at night and even if that is the only thing you do that day then at least you have managed to keep active.

3. Try a new recipe
This is the perfect time to try out some new recipes! It's also a great way to pass the time as well as using up food that is about to go out of date. I tried making veggie spaghetti bolognese the other week and it went really well - I spent the afternoon doing it and it was so satisfying.

4. Cocktail making
During this stressful time a lot of people (including me) will turn to alcohol to relax and de-stress. Why not pop to your local shop and stock up on some cocktail ingredients. My favourite is a pornstar martini but it's also fun to try something you've never had before.

5. Baking
If you have a sweet tooth then baking is always a good idea. If you struggle with baking then you can easily buy a cake mix from the shop, quite often you only need to add eggs or water! Last week I used a Betty Crocker chocolate brownie mix and added oreos - they tasted amazing and cured my sweet craving.

6. Read a new book
Now is finally the time to get round to reading that book that's been sitting on your shelf for ages. Reading passes the time quickly and also is a good break if you have been binge watching netflix series. I'm about to start reading Normal People and then planning on watching the series, I've heard such good things about it.

7. Tie dyeing
I've seen so many people on Instagram recently tie dyeing t-shirts and joggers, I'm dying to try it out! I've found a kit on Amazon which isn't too expensive and it comes with 8 different colour dyes.

8. Clear out your clothes
A good way to pass the time is to have a full clear out of all your clothes. I usually take them all out and cover my bed but often regret it as it takes so long. It's always worth it though, plus it can take up an afternoon. You can decide which clothes you think you could sell on Ebay/Depop and which clothes to give to charity. It also gives you an excuse to buy some new pieces to fill your new space.

9. Buy some new plants
Why not spruce up your bedroom or living room with some new house plants? If you're looking for something that is low maintenance then go for a cactus (they're pretty much impossible to kill) or if you're looking for something a bit bigger then go for a cool swiss cheese plant - they look great in the corner of a room! If you're not feeling up to the challenge then you can get some great realistic looking artificial plants.

10. Learn a new language
If you're desperately looking for something to keep yourself busy with, then why not try learning a new language? There are so many apps now that will train you up such as Duolingo and once travel goes back to normal you can put your new skills to the test. The perfect excuse to plan a holiday!

Hopefully we won't be in lockdown for much longer but if we are then I hope these will help to keep you busy and not as bored. It's also totally okay to just relax and not do anything some days if you don't feel up to it, your mental health is just as important as your physical health.

Collaboration with DFWM Jewellery

Welcome back to my blog; I know it’s been a long time since my last post - life has been very busy! I’m currently working with DFWM (Don’t F**k With Me) Jewellery and can’t wait to show you what they’ve sent me. Scroll down to see my pictures. DFWM is an online unisex jewellery store run by one woman, Michelle. As a single mum, Michelle was looking for a new career path. After chatting to her friend, she came up with the idea of an online chic boutique; DFWM followed soon after. The brand’s s ethos is to stand up for ourselves and what’s right. We shouldn’t tolerate insulting behaviour nor be made to feel uncomfortable for being who we are. This is definitely a message I can get behind and support! In my opinion, we need so many more brands to embrace people from all backgrounds. I have been kindly sent a stunning bee ring and two bracelets - both are gorgeous!! DFWM have a fab range of products including gold-plated and sterling silver jewellery, snazzy sunglasses, not to m...

My Skincare Routine

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog!  For this weeks post I thought I would share with you all my skincare routine and my favourite products. I love trying out new items but I have fairly sensitive, acne prone skin, as well as this I have dry patches but a very oily T zone, so I find it a nightmare trying to find the perfect routine. Morning Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Charcoal Face Wash £5 I usually shower every morning and I wash my face with this from Boots. I have tried out a lot of tea tree face washes but find that they can dry me out and leave my skin a bit red, however this works a treat on me. I massage this onto my wet face and neck for at least 1 minute, leaving my skin feeling clean and smooth. The charcoal draws out deep impurities and excess oil without over drying your skin. Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Toner £13.50 Once I am out of the shower I use this Mario Badescu aloe vera toner. It is suitable for dry and sensitive skin and is alcohol free. I love this toner as it i...

Workwear Picks

Finding outfits that look fashionable and appropriate can be difficult so I've decided to put together some key pieces that I think would be great for either work or uni. These pieces I have listed can be worn easily time and time again by styling in different ways - they could be dressed up for a fancy event or dressed down for a more casual office look. Many websites such as Topshop and Pretty Little Thing have a workwear section complete with suits, blouses and trousers. I find this so helpful when it comes to finding smart clothes even when they are not for work! 1. Belted Jersey Midi Dress £29 This belted Topshop midi dress is perfect workwear, it is one of my favourites on this list! It's a simple piece that could be worn with some chunky boots in Winter or ballet flats in summer. You could also wear a chunky knit over this with some tights for those snowy days. 2. Bell Sleeve Chuck On Dress £25 This Topshop 'chuck on' dress is great for those days...
